Construction Quotation Comparison: Price Is Not the Only Number
A practical method for comparing scope, specification, tax, lead time, warranty and exclusions across quotations.
Two construction quotations are rarely comparable until they are normalized. Start by placing every bidder against the same item, quantity, specification and commercial condition.
Normalize landed price
Add tax, transport, unloading, accessories, installation, testing and recurring costs. Record discounts and validity separately.
Record deviations
Highlight substitutions, excluded work, delivery assumptions, warranty limits and payment terms. An apparently cheaper quote may simply omit scope.
Score capability
Check stock, staffing, references, response time, documentation and after-sales support before final approval.
